# Operato

> Operato builds SUMO, a vendor-neutral Dynamic Thermal Rating (DTR) platform that gives transmission system operators real-time and forecast thermal ratings for power lines and transformers — unlocking existing grid capacity (typically 20%+ on a given line) without new construction or field hardware.

Operato grew out of ELES, Slovenia's national transmission system operator, where the SUMO platform has run in production since 2017. SUMO integrates with existing SCADA/EMS systems and carries full N and N-1 contingency awareness. The company is ISO 9001 / 14001 / 27001 certified and the platform is IEC 62443-3-3 Security Level 3 compliant. SUMO is deployed at TSOs and utilities including ELES (Slovenia), HOPS (Croatia), IPTO (Greece), AESO and AltaLink (Canada), PG&E (USA) and Litgrid (Lithuania).
